At Sunshine Montessori, the Babies Room is a calm, nurturing space where the very youngest children begin their journey feeling safe, loved, and confident.

From the very start, we focus on building strong, secure attachments. Each baby has a consistent key person, creating a close bond that helps them feel settled and supported. This relationship begins with parents — we take time to understand your child’s routines, comforts, and joys so that nursery life feels familiar and reassuring.

We see every baby as a unique, capable individual. Our practitioners thoughtfully balance gentle adult-led activities with open-ended, child-led exploration. Each week, we design engaging invitations to play inspired by the babies’ interests and developmental needs. Careful observation helps us celebrate milestones, notice emerging skills, and share these moments with families through our EY Log app.

The environment itself is an important teacher. Cosy, soft corners provide comfort, while heuristic play sessions and thoughtfully prepared materials invite curiosity and independence. We pay attention to the play patterns (schemas) babies naturally explore, tailoring experiences that deepen their learning in meaningful ways.
