“My son absolutely loves his nursery and the teachers within. He walks in with a smile and out with a smile. What more could a parent ask for.”

Amy, mother of a child

Explorers (Babies)

Our new baby room offers a gentle, nurturing start for our youngest children. Designed for just six babies, it provides the calm, intimate environment they need while still offering rich learning opportunities. The space includes areas for loose-parts play, messy and sensory exploration, a cosy sensory corner, and direct access to their own dedicated garden for fresh air and outdoor experiences.

Discoverers & Investigators (2–5 Years)

From age two, children join our family group approach, learning and playing together in a well-organised, mixed-age classroom. The environment includes all core Montessori areas—practical life, numeracy, and literacy—alongside dedicated spaces for loose parts, construction, creativity, and art. This thoughtful layout encourages independence, collaboration, and confidence in every child.

Our Garden

Our spacious, well-resourced garden is a peaceful escape from the bustle of city life. Children have endless opportunities for movement, imagination, and exploration—riding bikes, digging in the sandpit, getting messy in the mud kitchen, or enjoying big physical play with free-flow access from the main classroom.

Forest School

From age three, children enjoy weekly trips to our forest school site. Here they learn through hands-on discovery, teamwork, and open-ended enquiry with our trained teachers. The forest becomes an extension of the classroom—offering space, freedom, and inspiration for every child to question, collaborate, imagine, and grow.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to honour childhood, nurture curiosity, and build the foundations for lifelong learning. Inspired by Montessori principles and enriched by real-world experiences, it weaves together hands-on exploration, nature, creativity, and community connection. Every activity is intentional yet joyful, giving children the space to follow their interests, gain confidence, and develop the skills that matter most from birth to five.

Nature

Nature is at the heart of everything we do. Whether children are digging in the soil, watching the seasons shift, or spending time in our forest school sites, they learn through the rhythms and wonders of the natural world. These daily experiences support emotional wellbeing, build resilience, and offer endless opportunities for enquiry, imagination, and calm.

Creativity

Creativity flows through each day at Little Tots Montessori Reading. From open-ended materials and loose-parts play to art, dance, music, and storytelling, children are encouraged to express themselves freely and joyfully. Creative expression strengthens language, problem-solving, and confidence—helping children develop a rich inner voice and a lifelong love of making and imagining.

Community

A strong sense of community anchors our nurseries. Children build relationships with peers, staff, families, and the wider world—from visits to care homes to events that bring everyone together. We believe these connections create belonging, nurture empathy, and help children understand their place within something bigger, forming the foundation for confident, compassionate little citizens.
