“From day one, we’ve known Cooper was in the best hands at Little Tots, surrounded by a team that geniunely cares for and nurtures him. We’re so thankful for everyone.”

Explorers (Babies)

Our cosy baby room offers a gentle, nurturing start for our youngest children. Designed for just nine babies, it provides an intimate space where little ones can explore at their own pace. The room includes its own loose-parts area, messy and sensory play, a soft sensory corner, and direct access to a dedicated garden—giving babies the perfect balance of comfort, curiosity, and outdoor time.

Discoverers & Investigators (2–5 Years)

From age two onwards, children learn together in our mixed-age, family-group classroom. This spacious, well-organised environment includes all foundational Montessori areas—practical life, numeracy, and literacy—alongside dedicated zones for loose parts, construction, role play, and art. The layout encourages independence, imagination, and collaboration, allowing every child to feel confident and capable.

Our Forest School Adventures

One of Stoney Heath’s greatest joys is its close proximity to a beautiful forest school site, just a short walk away. Children visit several times each week, travelling in style with Bumble the wagon, ready for days spent exploring beneath a canopy of towering trees. In the forest, they climb, investigate, negotiate, imagine, and discover the wonders of the natural world—turning every visit into a powerful, hands-on learning experience.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to celebrate childhood, nurture curiosity, and build the foundations for lifelong learning. Inspired by Montessori principles and enriched by real-world experiences, it weaves together hands-on exploration, nature, creativity, and community connection. Every activity is intentional yet joyful, giving children the space to follow their interests, gain confidence, and develop the skills that matter most from birth to five.

Nature

Nature is at the heart of everything we do. Whether children are digging in the soil, watching the seasons shift, or spending time in our forest school sites, they learn through the rhythms and wonders of the natural world. These daily experiences support emotional wellbeing, build resilience, and offer endless opportunities for enquiry, imagination, and calm.

Creativity

Creativity flows through each day at Little Tots Stoney Heath Montessori. From open-ended materials and loose-parts play to art, dance, music, and storytelling, children are encouraged to express themselves freely and joyfully. Creative expression strengthens language, problem-solving, and confidence—helping children develop a rich inner voice and a lifelong love of making and imagining.

Community

A strong sense of community anchors our nurseries. Children build relationships with peers, staff, families, and the wider world—from visits to care homes to events that bring everyone together. We believe these connections create belonging, nurture empathy, and help children understand their place within something bigger, forming the foundation for confident, compassionate little citizens.
